Molly

Molly was born on June 15th, of 2008. In the summer of 2008 I had just moved to the Houston area and was looking for a companion. I have had many friends who have owned boxers and fell in love with their tough looking exterior, bold personalities and clown like humor. I had known for quite some time that my first dog would be a boxer. I first checked out the Lonestar boxer rescue, and when they had nothing available that was under 2 years old, I turned to the online pet classifieds. I must have browsed through 100's of puppy photos, but for some reason this adorable flashy fawn female stuck out. She was big for a female, and had cute white markings. She was not from a big kennel just a family home breeder who owned the mom and dad. When I went to go meet her, she was the most estatic puppy I had ever met, she was jumping all over, licking me and being extremely playful. I knew I had to have her, she had a outgoing and loving personality just like me.

Shortly after I got her home, I took her to the vet for a health checkup, but by this time I had already had her for over a week, and was in love with her. The vet gave me horrible news, she said Molly had a severe heart murmur, and that she could potentionally grow out of it, and may have no other issues, or it could get worse and she could die! I was shocked and heartbroken, but still blinded by love, I said I was not going to just simply give her back and give up on her.

As she grew older the murmur decreased and now when she is fully grown, it is still present but barely audible. It has reached it maximum size, and she should live a healthy life, we had an EKG done at the bay area specialist center to be absolutely sure and they confirmed the good news that it is not growing anymore!

To this day Molly still is very outgoing, she jumps and licks all over when she is excited and is still estatic about EVERYTHING! She absolutely loves life, and anything having to do with a toy or water. She did not just start out swimming though, at first she would literally sink in a pool. It wasn't until she was over a year old that she finally got the hang of it, and now at 2 years old she is a magnet to water. She will leap off of anything, a dock, a diving board, and even a small pool waterfall!

She is my first boxer and I have a feeling there will be plenty more to come!
