Laila Ali

After getting our first boxer Molly, 6 months later we wanted another one, we decided to get a sister for Molly. Laila was born on January 9, 2009. Only a mere 7 months after Molly. I thought it was a great time to get a sister for Molly, she needed a playmate! I once again turned to the online pet classifieds. I looked at numerous puppies, and really wanted a brindle, when I stumbled across an add for flashy reverse brindle puppies, I loved what I saw! All of these puppies were so beautifully colored, they were such a dark brindle and very original. There was a little female who caught my eye, she was so tiny and had alot of flash to her. When I went to go see the litter this female was the last flashy one left and I knew I had to have her!
At first Molly did not know what to do with this little thing that was trying to nurse off of her. It took awhile but she finally warmed up to this little thing, and soon they became great friends..or sisters! (Although they are not actually related)

We wanted to come up with a name that was related to real-life boxers, like Rocky or Muhammad Ali. Since she is a girl this made it a little more difficult, however we found out that Muhammad Ali's daughter was named Laila, so therefore she got the name Laila Ali. One thing we noticed right away is that her personality was so different than Molly's, for one she was very laid back, not hyper like Molly! She also loves to cuddle, and is very permissive. Another cute thing that is different is that she has a small underbite and a really long tongue which causes her teeth and tongue to hang out of her mouth. It causes her to look "special" or cute in my opinion! =)

Another cute thing Laila started when she was little was crawling under the bed, mainly to hide from Molly, and I thought as she grew older and larger she would no longer be able to fit under the bed. I was mistaken, although she is almost 60 pounds she still manages to slither sideways and squeeze under the bed! haha

Laila is a magnet to water, and was a natural swimmer from the start. She loves retrieving toys from the water, here she is jumping into the water...look at that air!

Due to Laila's loving personality and beautiful markings, we thought she would make a wonderful mom, that is why we have chosen her to breed!
